Articles of confederation essay!
The Articles of Confederation was the first plan of goverment for the United
States. Unfortunatly the Articles of Confederation deffiantly had it's weaknesses.
The articles prevented the government from having the power to tax, from having the
pwer to enforce treatied and last from having the power to regulate commerce.
First, under the Articles of confederation the congress had no power to tax.
Without the power to tax the governemt was unable to raise money for ary leads to
threat mutiny. Also without the power to tax a weak currency and a high growing debt
was created.
Second, under the articles of confederation the congress had no power to
enforce treaties.A treaty is an agreement between nations, therfore without the right to
enforce them, arguments were created between nations.
Lastly, Under the Articles of Confederation the congress also had no power to
regulate commerce. Without the power to regulate commerce the states trade imposed
high tariffs on each other. Meaning That the cost for imports was raised which caused
major problem. All thanks to the first plan of government.

In conclusion, the Constitution created a weak national government. It prevented
the inability to to tax, enforce commerce and to regulate the commerce. Although these
are just a few down falls of the Articles of the Confederation its enough to prove that it
had its fair share of weaknesses
